Susi is a Boston-based dancer of Armenian descent. Her love of the music is in her blood. Her earliest memories were with her Grandfather listening to his beloved music on his short-wave radio. Her Great Uncle played kanun and her aunts were classical singers and pianists. She presents the dance as an expression of joy and beauty, mindful of its roots in the culture of the old-country.

Her early belly dance training "orientale" was in Texas with Z-Helene, Pat Taylor and Zein al Jundi. In Boston, she studied intensely with Shadia Tohme-Maalouf. She also travels regularly to NYC to take class with visiting Egyptian teachers. Susi is a house dancer at the Byblos Restaurant in Norwood and performs regularly with the Egyptian singer, Tarek abd el Hai.

You can see Susi dancing with the shamadan in The Egyptian Academy of Oriental Dance's 9th Gala DVD along with belly dance luminaries from around the world. DVD available at: www.egyptianacademy.com/store.asp
